Enticing menu for Taste 2019

Great Southern Tourism Events launched the 2019 Taste Great Southern program at an event in Perth on Tuesday 12 March. Media and foodies gathered for the launch and were invited to visit the Great Southern to make the most of the enticing menu of events featuring superb regional produce.

Taste 2019 runs from April 4 to 14 and features international guest chef Chris Salans, from Mozaic Restaurant in Ubud, Bali. He is joined by celebrity cooks Adam Liaw and Anna Gare, along with 18 chefs from Perth, Albany and Esperance.

Some events on the program are already sold out. The program includes markets, long table meals, wine and coffee workshops and a host of other events highlighting foods and drinks of the Great Southern.

Taste Great Southern was one of the successful applicants in the recently announced Regional Economic Development grant program, gaining $25,000 of State Government funding through the GSDC to augment funding through Tourism WA and other supporters.

The GSDC was a founding supporter of Taste Great Southern in 2005 and has helped it to grow to a fixture on the regional calendar of events. Last year’s event drew more than 10,000 attendees and marked a positive shift towards a younger demographic profile.
