Great Southern welcomes International Media and Top Chef
We recently welcomed a VIP media delegation from Thailand and Singapore to the Great Southern, to explore our unique offerings, and extraordinary premium food and wine products.

Among the delegation was world-renowned Top Chef Thailand winner, Chef Tam Chudree Debhakam of Michelin Star Restaurant, Baan Tepa, as well as media representatives from Vogue Thailand, Prestige Luxury Asia and Channel News Asia.
The mission itinerary featured a Mount Barker Pork farm tour, an Akoya Masterclass by Harvest Road at Garrison Restaurant, a Great Southern private dining experience at Ocean & Paddock, a tour and tasting at Limeburners Whisky Distillery, and a visit to The Gap and Natural Bridge, finishing off the day with a private dinner at Latitude 35º5 created by local chef Silas Masih of Pepper & Salt Restaurant.

On day 2 of the journey, the delegation visited Greens Pool, enjoyed a tour amongst the vines and a private tasting at Singlefile Wines, as well as a tasting at Forest Hill Winery, accommodation at the stunning Upland Farm, and a pop-up dining experience like no other.

The VIP dining experience at The Dam in Denmark, titled ‘Baan Tepa at The Dam’, showcased Thai-Australian fusion cuisine prepared by Chef Tam, and resident Chef Noi of The Dam. This event was the highlight experience for the mission.

The 2023 Great Southern & South West Media Mission built on the strong momentum created in the media, following previous missions, and aimed to amplify recognition of the Great Southern as an area of provenance for premium produce and wine in a number of key markets.
