GSDC and ASW have signed a Memorandum of Agreement to deliver the Great Southern Tourism and Trade Partnership.

We believe the key to maximising the region’s potential across these sectors is the placement of a suitably qualified and experienced senior Tourism and Trade Officer within the region which will allow us to deliver on multiple strategic initiatives, build on key relationships and optimise some of the potential for the region.

Key responsibilities will include supporting tourism and export business capacity, capability development and tourism infrastructure development in the region, with a focus on aligning activities and projects identified in the GSDC and ASW strategic and operational planning documents.

The partnership will encourage tourism and trade development in the region by facilitating access to opportunities in all three tiers of government.
Tourism-related activities will include marketing and promotion, events, tourism product development, and destination development. They will identify joint projects and encourage local organisations and tourism operators to participate, where relevant.

Trade-related activities will include supporting businesses to become export ready and ensuring export ready businesses have access to advisory services, including access TradeStart services, connecting the Great Southern to Austrade’s global network of Business Development Directors.
