Great Southern Food and Beverages a Hit at Meet the Buyer

For the first time, a team from the GSDC attended the Eat Best Buy West Meet the Buyer Trade Show to showcase a variety of Great Southern food and beverage products, receiving positive feedback from buyers, producers and event organisers.

The annual event taking place in Perth is an opportunity for food and beverage producers to meet with buyers from across the country in an effort to further product reach, and access a broader range of consumers. 204 buyers and importers, chefs and sommeliers attended the event along with media.

This year, we represented 12 Great Southern producers at the event with the objective of spreading brand awareness for the region’s food and beverage offering and connecting our producers with business opportunities. The 12 Great Southern producers included Touchwood Mushrooms, Gods of Sauces, South Coast Hemp Foods, Handasyde Strawberries, Mt Barker Flour, Dellendale Creamery, Spoonful of Goodness, Southern Apiaries Honey, Bombora, Boston Brewing, Paw Print Chocolates and Beck and Call.

Buyers were highly engaged with the Great Southern stand, and we gained valuable feedback for the producers, with another key outcome being awareness for the Great Southern as food producing destination.
