Great Southern Budget Briefing

WA Premier Mark McGowan

WA Premier Mark McGowan outlined the 2021-2022 State Budget and its implications for the Great Southern at a briefing in Albany on Monday 13 September.

More than 160 guests attended the briefing, where Premier McGowan described the broad Budget settings and examined how Albany and the Great Southern would benefit.

The State Budget was delivered on Thursday 9 September and included allocations for tourism infrastructure at The Gap, trails in Albany and Aboriginal tourism.

Education spending includes new STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) classrooms in Albany schools. The Budget also includes initiatives in housing, health, and transport.

Along with the audience of business and community leaders, students from schools in Albany, Denmark and Mount Barker attended the briefing and took part in the question and answer session that followed.

We partnered with the Albany Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Denmark Chamber of Commerce and the Katanning Regional Business Association to host the Budget briefing.
