Group of students at research facility

Over 40 students from more than 20 countries visited Kinjarling/Albany recently in a Future Leaders Immersion Program field trip to explore regional opportunities through visits to ten industry partners. The participants are students from the University of Western Australia (UWA), Curtin University, North Metropolitan TAFE and the University of Notre Dame Western Australia.

We liaised with Australia’s South West and the UWA Albany Centre to connect the field trip with organisations including Southern Ports Albany, Hilton Garden Inn, Raintree Denmark, City of Albany and Marine Energy Research Australia.

UWA Business School Associate Professor Maggie Ying Jiang said the group was impressed by the valuable presentations and specially arranged tours. She said the students learned a great deal during the trip and gained broader understanding about careers, employment potential and opportunities in regional Western Australia.

The field trip took in visits in Perth and Bunbury as well as the Great Southern leg of the journey.
