The GSDC Board recently received a new member, with proud Goreng man Robbie Miniter joining the board as a Community Representative to help guide the overarching strategic direction of the commission.

The GSDC Board recently received a new member, with proud Goreng man Robbie Miniter joining the board as a Community Representative to help guide the overarching strategic direction of the commission.

Born and raised in the Great Southern’s Gnowangerup, Robbie has a deep appreciation and understanding for the needs of the community, and has extensive experience working towards development in the region.

Robbie has a wealth of experience engaging with a range of stakeholders, gained from work in the Waalitj Foundation, Department of Local Government, Sports and Cultural Industries, Department of Communities, Minderoo Foundation, Telethon Kids Institute and private businesses.

As a community representative and advocate, his strong cultural knowledge imparted to him by his Elders has lead to many years of cultural awareness training and mentoring. Robbie received an Order of Australia Medal for his work with Aboriginal communities across Western Australia.

Robbie brings his extensive community understanding, advocacy and valuable cultural knowledge to the GSDC Board.
