GSDC Board Membership – Call for nominations
The Great Southern Development Commission is seeking community nominations for the Great Southern Development Commission Board.

The Great Southern Development Commission (GSDC) is a Statutory Authority established under the Regional Development Commissions Act 1993. Its purpose is to promote balanced economic and social development in the Great Southern region and support endeavours that build the economy and promote the region’s growth. The GSDC works with the public, private and not-for-profit sectors and promotes and facilitates effective partnerships between government and regional communities.
The Commission is seeking nominations from highly motivated and enthusiastic people with the following skills and experience:
- Understanding of key issues impacting the economic and social development of the region;
- Demonstrated involvement in the economic and/or social development of the region; and
- The ability to work cooperatively to achieve agreed goals across a wide range of issues and stakeholders.
People may nominate themselves or others, and organisations may choose to nominate individuals. The GSDC is committed to building an inclusive Board that represents the diversity of the Region. Candidates with diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
Terms of appointment will be from one to three years and nominees must live in the Great Southern region.
The Minister for Regional Development, Hon Don Punch MLA will make the appointment to the Board after consultation with the WA State Cabinet.
