Community screenings, short films, Indigenous films and four days of screenings will showcase Australian filmmaking.

We support CinefestOz Albany as part of our film-friendly approach to encouraging filmmaking in the Great Southern. Our region has hosted feature films and television series in recent years, including Breath, H is for Happiness, Rams and Itch. A feature film of Tim Winton’s Blueback is expected to be released this year.

CinefestOz Albany 2022 will include a special screening of Edward and Isabella, by Albany-based filmmaker Adam Morris. Edward and Isabella was shot in late 2020 on a limited budget in Kinjarling / Albany, Porongurup and the Stirling Range.

It stars Chloe Hurst and Daniel Barwick as a successful Perth couple who go on a country holiday to determine the fate of their relationship.
