Albany Waterfront Development
The Albany Waterfront Development is a State Government project managed by Landcorp with key stakeholders the City of Albany, the GSDC, the Department of Transport and Main Roads WA. The land and harbour development project will include a mix of commercial buildings, tourist accommodation and a multi purpose marina. Stage 1 works included the subdivision and infrastructure requirements for the Albany Entertainment Centre and two commercial sites, and the widening of Princess Royal Drive. Stage 1 was completed in early 2009.
Environmental approvals and design work associated with the marina, boat harbour, hotel site and commercial site were completed and work started on Stage 2 in July 2009. Stage 2 is due to be completed in late 2010. The harbour and marina will be handed over to the Department of Transport. Marketing of the hotel and commercial sites will take place early in 2010.
