Living in the Regions 2013 survey

The Department of Regional Development and Lands (RDL) is conducting a Living in the Regions 2013 survey to investigate why people live in or move out of regional Western Australia and their perceptions of quality of life.
The survey will help to answer the big questions:
• How can we attract people to, and retain people in, regional areas?
• What are the ‘sense of wellbeing’ factors that influence people’s decisions on where to live?
• What are the strengths of a region and how happy are people living there?
• What are the barriers people perceive as preventing them moving to a region?
Regional residents who are 18 and over are invited to take part in the survey on-line. Your participation will help the Western Australian Government develop projects and programs best suited to Western Australia’s regions.
Completing the survey will take 10 to 15 minutes. Responses are confidential. The deadline for the survey has been extended and it now closes on 31 May 2013.
Information about attitudes to regional living will also be gathered from metropolitan residents. RDL will publish the results of Living in the Regions 2013 in a State-based report as well as reports on each of the nine regions.
